Sports at the MEA

FREE COMMUNITY FOOTBALL LEAGUE

StreetLife football began at Manchester Enterprise Academy in 2010 in partnership with Manchester Leisure (Sports Development).

Within weeks it was a huge success, with up to 50 local children coming down and joining in.

Street Life Football at MEA

Our Street Life is based on a 5 week league system, with the winning players receiving a trophy. Most of our players come from the local community, some of which attend our very own MEA. Even though most of the players are boys, we do have girls come along and join in and are always welcome.

The teams play each other in 7 minute games with coaches and staff refereeing. We play every Friday night on the Astro turf pitches from6pm – 8pm, so there is plenty of time to talk to friends, and make new ones!

If anyone is interested you can come as a team of 6 (squad of 8), or as an individual and just join a team.

All the emphasis is on playing football in a safe atmosphere, have some fun wether you win or lose, after all its better than being bored, having nothing to do on Friday nights.

We do have a target age group, so you have to be 14 to 19 to play for safety reasons. Occasionally our winners enter an area tournament representing the MEA Street Life at the Cliff training ground, where we play other Street Life teams from around Manchester.

Don't forget it's all FREE - you don't have to pay a penny.
