Admissions
Manchester Enterprise Academy can accept 150 students each year and you can apply for a place using the Manchester City Council Common Application Form. From 2010 there will be 120 post-16 places available.
We’ll consider all applications and where places are oversubscribed we will comply with the criteria set out in the Manchester City Council High School Admission Policy document. Broadly speaking that means giving preference to:-
- children who are looked after by the local authority,
- children with exceptional medical or social needs,
- children who have a brother or sister at MEA when they take up their place,
- children who attend Manchester local authority primary schools who live closest to MEA, and
- children who don’t attend a Manchester local authority primary school but live closest to MEA.
You can apply for a place at Manchester Enterprise Academy by telephoning on 0161 483 1300, by emailing the Principal Marie Quayle on principal@manchesterenterpriseacademy.com, or by writing to Manchester Enterprise Academy, Simonsway, Wythenshawe, Manchester M22 9RH or by calling in at reception to make an appointment.
You can also apply online by visiting www.manchester.gov.uk or by completing an application form. If you would like to apply for a place at MEA, please call the academy admissions team on 0161 234 7188.
The online application form will reopen in November 2009 for students wishing to start secondary school in 2010.
In accordance with statutory requirements, the offer of places at Manchester Enterprise Academy will be made to students by March 1 of the year they are due to start their secondary schooling.
