Your Child’s Curriculum

The curriculum at Manchester Enterprise Academy is about skills-based, relevant and enjoyable learning. Business and education are connected and MEA’s overriding principle is to put learning at the centre of life.

That’s why MEA’s sponsors – Manchester Airport, Willow Park Housing Trust, The Manchester College and Manchester City Council – are so important to the success of the academy.

Years 7 and 8 (Key Stage 3)

Students will spend a major part of their week learning English and mathematics – the essential building blocks of all learning. Fitness is important so students will spend half a day a week taking part in sport.

Developing skills is just as important as acquiring knowledge, and the curriculum has been designed to make sure that all of our students achieve the correct mix of skills to help them find jobs, go on to further training or higher education.

Years 9, 10 and 11 (Key Stage 4)

We encourage students to choose from a wide range of GCSE options and new diplomas which develop practical skills. Diplomas are awarded for real-life learning at Manchester Enterprise Academy.

Our business and industry partners including Manchester Airport and The Manchester College are heavily involved in developing these courses. At MEA these course will reflect our specialism of enterprise including:
