The Building

Manchester Enterprise Academy opens its doors to its first students in September 2009 and for the first year will be on the site of Parklands High School. There will be changes to the existing building with fresh, new colours and the development of new learning areas to help support Manchester Enterprise Academy’s new way of learning.

In September 2010 the teachers and students will move into a brand new, purpose-built facility on the same site. The new building has been specifically designed by teaching staff and students to help deliver the learning goals of the new Manchester Enterprise Academy.

The building

There will be new, flexible learning zones where half or full year groups will learn. The learning zones will be large, open areas that can be divided up using furniture or other resources to create an ideal space for personalised learning.

There will be a large welcoming central hall and foyer areas, and because of the building’s importance in the overall regeneration of the Wythenshawe area, the new MEA building will become a community hub, which will be used by local people out of academy hours for activities, hobbies, leisure and events.
