Year 9 Options Process

Students follow the Key Stage 3 curriculum in Years 7-9 delivered through our Know It curriculum.

During Key Stage 4 pupils work towards national qualifications. At Manchester Enterprise Academy we begin teaching students Key Stage 4 GCSE and Vocational courses in Year 10. Students follow these courses for two years and if completed successfully, are awarded qualifications in these at the end of Year 11.

This is a very important time for Year 9 students as the decisions that they make during this process of choosing Key Stage 4 qualification subjects will unlock the opportunities for their future. At the end of Year 11 students will have two things: a set of exam results and a reference giving details about their behaviour, attendance and attitude.  Good exam results open up choices as to what to do in the future, poor results restrict choices.
