Lockdown Support

You may find the following sources of information helpful during lockdown:

MEA website – the safeguarding, online safety, domestic abuse and health & wellbeing pages of our website contain advice and links to materials and organisations which can offer support.

Manchester City Council (MCC) – have set up a hub to support the most vulnerable people, for advice or support call 0800 234 6123 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 2pm).

They can help if you are:

  • Affected by the restrictions, with no support network
  • High-risk or medically vulnerable
  • Other reasons, such as being a carer, care leaver or young carer

And can help with:

  • Support to access food
  • Delivery of medication
  • Combating loneliness
  • Managing fuel top-up payments
  • Getting access to services online

NHS – information and advice about coronavirus is available at: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ including symptoms of coronavirus, testing for coronavirus, booking a vaccination and advice on social distancing and self-isolating.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continuous cough
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

What to do if you have symptoms of coronavirus:

  1. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible
  2. You and anyone you live with should stay at home and not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to get a test.
