Starting Year 7 at MEA
We know moving to secondary school is a big step. Our transition programme is designed to help every student feel supported, excited, and ready to move into Year 7. We work closely with your child's primary school teachers during KS2 to ensure a smooth transition to MEA.
What to Expect:
- We keep parents/carers informed throughout the transition process with regular communication.
- July Transition Evening: A key date for new students to visit MEA and meet the Year 7 Team.

Thursday 3rd July 2025, 3:45pm - 6:45pm
This is an opportunity for Year 6 students and their parents to visit the school, meet the Year 7 Team and fellow prospective students, and have questions answered. We are excited to welcome everyone to MEA!
Tuesday 2nd September '25 at 1pm
Year 7 are expected in school on Tuesday 2nd September '25 at 1pm for an Induction afternoon. Please ensure they arrive at 12:55 at the MEA Gate on Simonsway in full school uniform, ready to start their journey at MEA.
Wednesday 3rd September at 8.45am (gates open 8.30am)
Students will start as normal on Wednesday 3rd September at 8:45, gates open at 8:30am. A free breakfast is available to Year 7 students from 7:30am - 8:20am.

Please be aware that the start date at the Academy has changed and that all Year 7 students are expected to attend school on Tuesday 2nd September '25 at 1pm for an Induction Afternoon. Year 7 studetns will start as normal at 8:45am on Wednesday 3rd September '25.
