At Manchester Enterprise Academy, we value the diversity of backgrounds of all students, families and the wider school community that we serve. Our approach to British Values links together all aspects of our curriculum, including our Fantastic Futures and character curriculum, our tutor time and assembly provision and our formal academic curriculum, to ensure that students know, understand and model these values.
We also understand the vital role we have in ensuring that groups or individuals, within the academy, are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation, by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them, as we develop our students’ understanding of and resilience to these harms. This understanding is embedded across our provision, through safeguarding, pastoral care and our curriculum areas.
As set out in the equal opportunities guidance, we are dedicated to ensuring that there will be no discrimination against any individual or group, regardless of faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political or financial status within the academy.This work is reflected in our personal development curriculum, academic curriculum and across all aspects of our provision, as we actively promote upstander behaviour.
We embolden our students to be creative, respectful, open-minded and independent individuals who are respectful of themselves and of others in our academy, our local community and the wider world – acting as ‘Community Citizens’.
